Rosa C. Reese- Baggett, affectionately known as "Mama Rose," was born March 26, 1937, in the beautiful city of Fort Pierce, Florida to the late Irene Washington-Reese and Ralph L. Reese Sr. Rosa was a lifelong resident of Fort Pierce, Florida.
Rosa was educated in the St. Lucie County School System and graduated from Lincoln Park. She was employed at McMillan Grocery Store and Scotty's Deli, but selling Avon was her passion. Her friends called her the "Avon Lady."
She was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in her earlier years. Later on, she joined St. James Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Armstead. She was a faithful member and Choir Director. She was also very active in her community. She was a member of the Fort Pierce Community Choir. Mama Rosa enjoyed helping people, she loved to pray, sing, cook, and eat.
On Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at ten o'clock in the morning, God called Rosa C. Baggett home to rest. She was preceded in death by her PARENTS: Irene Washington-Reese and Ralph Reese Sr.; HUSBAND, Jimmy Baggett; BROTHER, Ralph Reese Jr.; SISTER, Irene Reese-Shaw; a SON-IN-LAW, Michael Thomas; BROTHERS-IN-LAW: Theodore White and Joseph Noble; and a SISTER -IN-LAW: Julia Reese.
Left to cherish her precious memories are; her beautiful DAUGHTER, Katheria Thomas; a handsome SON: Kevin L. Hills Sr.; GRANDCHILDREN: Stephen M. Thomas (Brittney), Philip
J. Thomas (Ebony), Kevin Hills Jr., Keyshun Hills, and Donte Hills; SISTERS: Pastor Betty White and Pauline Noble: UNCLE, Otis Washington; NIECES: Debbie Scott (Chuck), Althea Glinton, Denesia Kim Walker, Theresa (Dennis) Smith, Wanda F. Hills, and Marilyn Hills; NEPHEWS: Trevor Noble, Charles Reese, Rodney Johnson Sr., and Joseph Noble Jr.; COUSINS: Linda, Brenda and Rita; GOD DAUGHTERS: Bertha McGriff, Joyce Alexander and Barbara Williams (Ibson); a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins that will truly miss.
