Peacefully on Wednesday July 29, 2020, God in His Infinite Wisdom, Mercy and Grace closed the eyes of our Beloved, John Adam Bacon, Sr. and he entered into his Eternal Rest.
John Adam Bacon Sr. was born on December 30, 1950 in Ft. Pierce, Florida to the late Malicciah Williams (Bacon) and the late Caressa Grooms Williams (Bacon)
John attended local schools here in St. Lucie County graduating from Lincoln Park Academy, class of 1969. After High School, he was drafted into the United States Army where he honorably served a tour of duty in Vietnam. He returned home in 1971 and began his career with Bellsouth as an Outside Plant Technician.
Seven years later he met and later married the love of his life, Theresa Jenkins. He was a dedicated and loving husband for 40 awesome years and their union was blessed with a baby girl named Tashena Jaqita Bacon.
He joined Greater New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church where he had been a faithful servant, choir member, and Deacon. In 2009, he retired from Bellsouth after 37 years of employment. John dedicated his retirement years to his family, riding his Harley, and his wife’s “honey-do” list. He most enjoyed being “Papa” to his grandchildren, with whom he spent most of his time.
John was known by all for his kind, gentle spirit and his generosity, but his most coveted title was “Papa” for which he was known by more than just his family. He enjoyed spending time riding his Harley with his wife and children, family vacations, and ministering to everyone he met. For him, no one was a stranger.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory: a loving and devoted wife and best friend of 42 years: Theresa Bacon; His children: Tashena (Abdulla) Bacon-Scott, Marie (Duane) Little, John Bacon, Jr., LaShay Wilson, LaSoloman (Jovianna) Archie, Euell (Danielle) Davis, Darryll McDuffie, and Tamika Robinson; His grandchildren: Tationa and Zaniya Scott, Mariah and Dominick Little, Dasia and Shayla Bacon, Mia and Makia Cooper, Janaysia Washington, Darin Coleman, Jerlaine Archie, Annias, Euell Jr., and Breanna Davis, Ariyanna Adams and Gerald Lewis, Jr.; His sisters: Effie (Maurice) Cotton, Dorothy Dowling, and Carliss (Mikal) Mitchell; His brothers: Malicciah (Benita) Bacon, Jr., Darcy Bacon, Sr., Emory Bacon, Sr.; His mother-in-law: Alice Arend; His father-in-law: Willie Jenkins; His sisters-in-law: Alice Jackson, Rose Fletcher, Cheryl Burns, and Carolyn Nicholson; His brothers-in-law: James Jenkins, Mike Alomar, Tevis Robinson, Willie Jenkins, and Maurice Parks; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends to whom he was a father figure – Sheree and Wendell, Kristi, Sandy, Jonathan, and Gregory Coombs.
