James “Tony” S. Lawson was born on October 2, 1966, to the late Eugene Wyche and Sarah Lawson. He attended the local schools of St. Lucie County where he graduated from Westwood High School in 1984. Afterwards, he joined the United States Army where he served for seven years and fought in the Gulf War. After moving back to Fort Pierce, Mr. Lawson was employed with Wells Fargo as a Armored Security guard. He enjoyed dancing, singing his favorite song “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus” and preaching.
On Tuesday, January 17, 2023, James S. Lawson peacefully departed this life. He was preceded in death by his parents: Eugene Wyche and Sarah Lawson; brothers: Grady Wyche, Jason James and Devarious Wyche; sisters: Velvet Lawson-Jackson, Alana James and Denise Lyles; a grandchild, Deaurious Townsend; grandparents: Arthur Wyche, Mattie Jones-Wyche, Thelma Sams, and JD Lawson; a great-grand parent, Lillie Mae Sams; uncles: Charles Wyche, Arthur Wyche, and James Wyche: aunts: Elizabeth Moreland-Wyche, Lillie Mae Hardin, Lee Murray, Eva Mae Jerger, Carol Holley, and Mable Barron.
Left to cherish his precious memories are his daughters: Twinamaani Lawson, Detresia D. Townsend, Brianna M. Lawson, and Jamie Lawson; grandchildren: Jeffr’ei Jenkins, De’Marious Lawson, Izaiah Peterson, and Nyasia Peterson; brothers: Kenneth Lawson, Terry Lawson, Ricky Lawson, Michael Wyche, Ernest Lawson, Kerry Johnson, Eugene James, and Javar Wyche; sisters: Luciana Wyche, Roshanda James, Tinikia Freeman, Natashia Wyche, and Lanishia Wyche; an uncle, Jessie (Bernice) Wyche; aunts: Essie (Stafford) Fisher and Julia Wyche; great aunt, Mattie Sams; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and other relatives who will all miss James dearly.
