Esther Fortune was born on November 14, 1950, to the late Johnnie Mae Redding-Jones and Jimmy Jones in Belle Glade, Florida. Esther grew up with an independent and vibrant personality. Her favorite interests as a child were working around the home, nurturing her siblings, and running track. She attended Lakeshore Elementary School and Lakeshore “Bobcats” High School where she was an excellent student and athlete. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Esther. She kept people rolling in laughter because she could find humor in the most mundane life circumstances. In 1982, Esther moved to West Palm Beach, Florida, with her children to start a new life. Esther chased her dreams in the hospitality industry. After 40 years of service, she retired. She then devoted most of her time to antique trading and gardening. Esther was a caring partner, mother, grandmother, friend, and the life of the party. Her pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met. She loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family, and spending time with family and friends, which was very important to her.
It is with great sorrow that the family of Esther Fortune announces her passing on October 9, 2022.
