Elmina “Comer” Josaphat was born May 21, 1949 in Drouin L’artibonite, Haiti to Sandoute Josaphat and Aricia Racine.
Elmina married Charles Cauvin in 1968 and traveled to USA in 1983 at the age of 34 years old. Together with her husband, they raised seven (7) children: five (5) daughters and two (2) sons. They suffered a loss of their oldest son, Pierre Rene Cauvin, who passed at the age of two (2). Elmina lost her husband, Charles, in 1998.
Elmina departed this life on Wednesday, September 15, 2021. She will be remembered for her generosity and the way she displayed her love to everyone.
Elmina leaves behind to cherish her beloved memories her daughters: Myrlande Cauvin, Adelfine Cauvin, Guerlande Cauvin, Elta Cauvin, Maraine Cauvin; son, Pierre Charles Cauvin; sons-in-law: Andre Morency, Karl H. Joseph, Harold Cherubin, Wikenson Ferdinand and Lamy Charles; grandchildren: Ashlande Morency, Andrea Morency, Sharlima Morency, Joshua Morency, Sophonie Louis, Katelyn Joseph, Kendrick Joseph, Krystine Joseph, Spencer Charles, Justin Charles, Charnia Eugene, Kayden Lozier, Elianna DelaRosa, Kaiden Cauvin, Isaiah Cherubin, Romise Cherubin, Gabriel Cherubin; sister, Elimene Saint Jean; brother, Thermius Saint Jean; nephews: Alex Augustin, Elijan Jeanterme, Nelson Jeanterme, Jonadin Jeanterme, Termitus Saint Jean, Termson Saint Jean, Termilson Saint Jean, Tide Deshomme, Termillien Deshomme, Tisandout Deshomme, Combar Cajuste, James Philippe, Robenson Philippe and Makeley Philippe; nieces: Anise Jeanterme, Elisemene Deshomme, Lisemene Deshomme, Roseline Saint Jean, Robecca Saint Jean, Aricia St. Jean, Neslande Joseph, Lavenie Cajuste, Darling St. Jean, Fadline Simpson, Jessica Augustin and Francesca Augustin; along with a host of other loving relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
