EDMOND MURRAY DELAVOE JR.
OCTOBER 6, 1953 - JANUARY 1, 2026
Edmond Murray Delavoe Jr. was born on October 6, 1953, in Miami, Florida, to Edmond Murray Delavoe Sr. and Corrine Simmons Delavoe. He was affectionately known as "Ed" by his family and "Frenchie" by his friends.
Edmond worked as a graphics editor for the Miami Daily Business Review for 29 years. After a two-year hiatus, he continued his career as a G4S Officer with Homeland Security, serving at the FPL Nuclear Plant in Homestead, Florida, for the next 15 years.
From his first marriage to Linda Delavoe, Edmond was blessed with one son, Michael Jeriod Delavoe. He was a proud grandfather to Michael Jeriod Delavoe Jr., Ahmad Jerard Delavoe, and Markell Duncan Delavoe.
Following his divorce, Edmond later married Saviour Cannida Kenty Delavoe, with whom he shared 38 loving years of marriage.
Although no children were born from this union, Edmond played an instrumental role in helping to raise his four stepchildren:
Johnny Collins (wife, Markisha), Mercury Eugene Collins (wife, Maria), Kelvin Tyrone Collins, and Michael Anthony Collins (wife, Martha).
Edmond enjoyed fishing, boating, and flying planes as a student pilot. He was especially known for his handyman skills and his love of creating, building, fixing, and repairing things around his home.
A true outdoorsman, he was hardworking, resourceful, and very much a "homebody" who took pride in improving his surroundings.
Edmond was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Anna Louise Delavoe; and his brother, Carl Delavoe. He leaves to mourn a host of cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
