Charlie Frank Matthews Il was born on September 26, 1969, in Fort Pierce, Florida to Charlie Frank Matthews and Gwendolyn Hall Matthews (deceased).
After the death of his mother, he was raised by his grandparents Emerson and Mary Hall (both deceased).
He graduated from Fort Pierce Central High School in 1987 and graduated from Bethune Cookman College (University) in Daytona Beach, Florida with a bachelor's degree in education.
Charlie started his teaching and coaching career at Deland High School in Deland, FL and worked 30 years as an Educator and Coach at various schools: Northport Middle School, Forest Grove Middle School, Fort Pierce Central High School, Fort Pierce Westwood High School. He retired from Port St. Lucie High School in 2023.
Charlie passed away on January 11, 2026. He was predeceased by his mother, Gwendolyn Hall Matthews; his maternal grandparents: Emerson and Mary Hall: paternal grandparents:
Abraham Walton and Lucy Lee; an aunt: Wilhelmina Hall; uncles, Willie James "Bob" Horne, Lorenzo Lee, and Sandy Lee.
He leaves to celebrate his life:

Stepchildren: De Avion Rogers, Jurden Sims, Dashyla Sims, Jamarion Riggins, Derrica Darville and Latrayvia Darville Grandchildren: Kyler Bell,
Paradise Dassas, and Miahla Sims. Father: Charlie Frank Matthews

and Marques Brown
Sisters-in-law: Viola Wilson, Awana Kinder, Kushona Robinson, and Gatsy Brown-Patterson
