Pastor Arnold Fils Pierre, an anointed man of God, husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 23, 2022. He was born in Haiti on February 8, 1944, and accepted Christ as his Savior at the age of 9. He met the love of his life, Paulette Desroches, in Brooklyn. Arnold and Paulette were married on November 23, 1974, and became a powerhouse team for the Kingdom of God. While he was serving as a pastor in the church, God told him to start a new ministry. In July of 1980, Bethel Baptist Church was birthed to serve the Haitian Community in Essex County and the surrounding areas. Pastor Arnold loved the Haitian Community and has worked to do everything he could to reach the area with the Gospel message and the love of Christ.
Arnold and Paulette had 8 children (Samuel, Jean, Osee, Ketsia, Esdras, Manuel, Moise, and Abed) and 12 grandchildren, but God used Pastor Arnold to be a father figure to church members. He was also a father to many pastors. As was prophesied about him many years ago, he was a pastor to pastors. He never announced that or tried to make it happen, but it came to pass, as the Holy Spirit said. His love for pastors was shown in a tangible way, evident when several pastors left their churches on a Sunday morning a few weeks ago to come to Bethel Baptist Church and show their love and support for him during his physical challenge.
Pastor Arnold was a giving man who worked tirelessly to spread the Gospel. He faced every challenge in life with admirable strength and courage. He was a man of strong faith. Pastor Arnold Pierre, you are now at peace, but you will live on forever in our hearts. We love you so much. Rest in peace.
